Are you looking for an adrenaline-packed drifting experience but have never drifted before? Book your session today at the iconic Thruxton race circuit’s skid pan! Take the wheel of our specially converted Mazda MX-5s and learn the art of drifting with our beginner-friendly, half-day sessions. From mastering figure-of-eight drift control to tackling full corner drifts, you’ll be guided by experienced instructors every step of the way. What you can expect -
The cars are specially prepared MK2 Mazda MX-5's with hydraulic hand brakes, welded rear differentials and modified front steering locks, giving greater steering angles to help maintain large drifts.
These cars are great for beginners with enough power but are well-balanced and have very high RPM, up to 7K revs. Making them incredibly responsive to your inputs.
The day kicks off at 9:30 AM with a warm welcome at the Skid Pan headquarters. Once everyone is settled in, we’ll begin with a detailed driver briefing to ensure you’re fully prepared for an exciting and safe experience. Afterwards, the real adventure begins as you head to the skid pan for your first taste of drifting.
With three 30-minute driving sessions in the morning and another three 30-minute driving sessions in the afternoon, you’ll enjoy plenty of seat time—more than most drifting experiences—giving you ample opportunity to hone your skills behind the wheel. With four cars available, each vehicle will be shared by two participants and one experienced instructor, ensuring personalized coaching tailored to your skill level. The skid pan itself is divided into two sections, allowing two cars to operate simultaneously and alternate between areas, keeping the experience fresh and engaging.
To add another layer of excitement, two participants at a time will have the chance to dive into our state-of-the-art motion simulators, offering a fully immersive racing experience. These are conveniently located in the Skid Pan HQ right next to the Skid Pan.
Throughout the day, we’ll provide complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks to keep you energized. For something heartier, the on-site café is available to satisfy your appetite and refuel your brain. Get ready for a full day of thrills, plenty of seat time, and unforgettable sideways action!
